Director's Message

It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming, on behalf of the entire campus community of UPTTI. The institute is standing of more than 100 years, out of which more than 60 years as UG level and 35 years as PG level institute. It has its roots in Dyeing College which was set up in 1914 and was renamed as Government Central Textile Institute in 1957. The institute acquired the autonomous status in 2006 and renamed as Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute. The institute has laid foundation of modern education in textile and use of textile technological practices in the progress of textile industry in India. Growth of textile industry in the country definitely has a stake of this institution. Over the years, it has evolved to reach and hold a unique position of pride in the textile education system in India. The institute has rich heritage values and had its standing as one of the best institutes imparting textile education at engineering degree level in the country. The rich tradition of the historic past combined with brand of modern education system has produced this institution par excellence as UPTTI Kanpur. I wish the best to all stakeholders of the institute.
