A workshop on 'Developing Graduate Attributes in Engineering Students' is organized by the team of Er Indra Prakash Mishra, Prof A. K. Patra and Prof. Abha Bhargava of the institute, on 5 & 6 February, 2018 at Placement Cell. The initiative was poised from the drive of getting NBA accreditation for the engineering programmes being run at the institute. It is understood that the NBA has set the programme objectives (POs) which are similar to the well-known 12 graduate attributes required in engineering graduates. These graduate attributes in conjunction with Bloom's Taxonomy set the benchmark for the stakeholders to move towards Vision of the institute. The team of faculty members was in the view that the students, to be more precise-the final and third year students, should also be aware of the attributes expected in them. In order to connect with the student on this off track but most relevant topic, the team organized a two day workshop inculcating graduate attributes in a judiciously planned exercise cum lectures from the experts. Professor T. Ravichandran from IIT Kanpur, Dr. Abha R. Dixit, Dr. Renu Nanda, Dr. Sidhanshu Rai, Professor M. K Singh, Er. I. P. Mishra and Ms. Alia Ali have given their valuable and fruitful inputs to the final year and third students who participated in the workshop with utmost enthusiasm. The workshop was funded by TEQIP and Professor Mukesh Kumar Singh- the director of the Institute was programme director for this workshop. The best part was that few of the inputs were so interesting that the faculty members of the institute have also attended in those activities. The programme successfully ended with the certificate distributions to the participants and obtaining their feedback. We the core team members wish to thank Director of the institute and the faculty members who participated in the workshop and extended their cooperation. Of course the value addition to the students is biggest achievement of the programme.
